Position assessment: Okay so before school even started, we came up with our T-shirt, crewneck and hoodie designs. As well as attending core camp and coming up with the HOCO theme. We sold our merch at registration from 8-12 and wednesday, thursday, friday of club rush week. So far I feel the senior officers have a great bond and an impressive level of adaptability and communication. I have assisted in filling out the procedure form for both merch sales and starting the HOCO procedure form. I also filled out a P.O. for spirit items and three separate P.O.s for merch. We also have begun our websites and completed our initial letter and section 1 of the portfolio.
Standing Committee: I am not apart of a standing committee
Special Committee: I was a part of the decoration committee for the black light rally. I put the paper over the windows so that the rest of the classes could not see the seniors in the foyer.
Mentorship Evaluation: Initially I was actually nervous to meet Kaiya, however she is literally the sweetest. We have many things in common and she is easy to talk to. I just wish she would directly ask me questions instead of going straight to Morty, I can help.
Concerns: My only concern is that we have two classes that seem to be completely behind on paperwork/planning. Homecoming is right around the corner and if we do not turn this around we could screw the whole program over.
Positive comment: My positive comment this month goes to Gracie. She has been so helpful with learning paperwork and little tips and tricks to make it easier/simpler. She is also an amazing friend and person in general. She is a constant supporter and positive influence in my life.
One change that you would like to see: I would like to see a book study sometime soon. Personally, I like book studies, even when they make me think a little harder than usual. And I know that the people who are newer to the program have not experienced one yet so I think it will be interesting.
My Impact: This month, I have been trying to keep my head above water. I have been doing my best to support my fellow senior officers, and complete/turn in paperwork on time. I hope that I have been successful in this, so far at least.

Position assessment: Before hoco even started, we held meetings (during which I took notes) to discuss our execution of ideas regarding homecoming events, like the night rally, window, and lemonade stand. I was also one of the 12(ish) people that went to mortys house to build pallets, I brought my dad's truck to transport the seniors' lemonade stand to April's house. I also ended up taking the freshmans’ lemonade stand to Emme’s house. There were many late nights and early mornings, which included putting up the homecoming sign up ⅗ days during the week. This also included working on our float, lemonade stand, night rally dance, and window til all hours of the night at April's house. I also participated in the night rally, and powderpuff. Throughout hoco I was filling out the procedure form and I only got stuck on a few parts which was good because it means I'm learning. I also walked in the parade with our float.
Standing Committee: Signs. For homecoming the senior officers and I put out the sign in front ⅗ days, and proceed to clean it up during seventh to put back in the student store.
Special Committee: Coronation. I was a part of the coronation committee where I attended meetings and offered any helpful points I could regarding coronation.
Mentorship Evaluation: Kaiya and I havent talked as much recently, however she does come to me if she has questions about her website or any assignments. I think overall she, and the other freshman, have had a lot on their plate between homecoming events and the halloween dance but I would like to get lunch with her soon.
Concerns: A concern I have right now is that there is quite a bit of drama. And I hate to use that word because it seems so childish and immature, and I don't mean to demean the situation but that is what it is. I'm just concerned that the drama in one group/class could spread and affect others.
Positive comment: My positive comment this month/over hoco goes to miss April Yan. She dedicated her heart and soul into hoco. I am so proud of her dedication, patience and kindness throughout the stress and chaos. Not only is she incredible in the program, but she is also just such an amazing friend. I am so thankful to have her as my class president that I work with 24/7, there is no one else (besides Gracie's of course) that I would want to help me with paperwork.
One change that you would like to see: I would love to do another book study now that hoco has passed. Also I think that praises are fun and sweet, however if not everyone does them then they lose some ‘meaning’ so to speak. Everyone needs to be contributing.
My Impact: This past month and a half, or so, has been jam packed with challenges, victories, and making memories. I cant believe that senior homecoming is over, and I am so proud of how much effort and time we put into every element, it definitely paid off. I have contributed as much as I could, my time and effort, to each part of homecoming. I also stayed on top of paperwork and I asked for help when I needed it which is something I am proud of.

Position assessment: I have been working with my officers in order to properly execute all of our events. I have worked on maintaining the two procedure forms we have going right now, winterfest, and tree decor. We have also brainstormed for those events, filled out and turned in POs, as well as ordering the necessary items to have them in before break. We also met with Morty to create our class motto.Basketball has kicked into full swing so I have been adjusting to the time commitment that brings, while maintaining my other obligations/priorities. Report on cart status: Everything is in order, we are all set to pick up the cart after break.
Standing Committee: Report on class shirts: All shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies are distributed. We have some leftover inventory, which we are talking to morty about selling or giving to staff.
Special Committee: CASL, overall my group worked well together and most of us did our part. Shout out to Claire for her diligence and organization. She was very responsible and so helpful whenever we needed anything.
Concerns: One concern I have is that people in the class are starting to consistently slack off causing others to pick up said slack. I have seen many instances where people simply do not do their job. Not knowing how, and asking for help is one thing, however not doing anything at all is not an option.
Positive comment: Miss Claire Morris. She is so strong and smart and such an enjoyable soul. Claire is one of the most hardworking people I know. For our CASL groups she ensured our success by creating an intricate outline and very clearly assigned us each a part, and gave us a specific date to have it done by. I am very thankful for that because with everything going on in my life right now her organization and kindness is a relief. I can remember meeting Claire for the first time, which feels like forever ago, she was quiet and gentle and reserved. I am so proud of the strong, dedicated, and independent leader she has become. And I am especially proud of how she constantly pushes herself to be better. Great job Claire!
One change that I would like to see: One change I would like to see within our program is people holding themselves and those around them to a higher standard. As a leadership class we need to boost each other up, not tear each other down. From the freshman to the commissioners to the ASB team we need to do a better job of this.
My Impact: My impact this month has been centered around paperwork. I am proud to say that I have been staying on top of all things admin, whilst balancing basketball, college apps, work, and family life.

Position assessment: The senior officers and I have worked together to plan Winterfest and ensure the other classes are in order. I have taken notes at meetings, filled out and turned in POs and helped brainstorm ideas for the competitions. I also worked with them to decorate our tree. I worked on the procedure forms for both, by the time this meeting takes place I will already have turned in the one for tree decor. I took notes at the second part of our last ASB meeting because Abby was gone. I also participated in cleaning up after formal and coming the day after formal to decorate doors. Currently we are looking forward to the execution of winterfest, and I am mainly focusing on my finals.
Standing Committee: Signs. For every event the senior officers have the duty to put the big yard signs out on the front lawn of the school. I will continue to do this all year.
Special Committee: Door decorating. I made a bow for S. Ochoa as well as putting up wrapping paper on other doors with my group.
Mentorship Evaluation: In my opinion Kaiya has been doing a much better job of balancing her leadership work and time management to the rest of her priorities and I am super proud of her for that. She is so sweet and I enjoy days where I get to sit next to her in class.
Concerns: A concern I have, this is a general statement, is the amount of work I have right now. This spans all of my classes, and it is starting to worry me a bit. Most teachers don't think twice about giving another assignment but now they are starting to add up real quick. I need to make a list and get on top of it ASAP.
Positive comment: My positive comment goes to, the one and only, Mina! I love his daily check-ins and bright smiles. He honestly brightens my day so much and I am so so thankful that he is in the program this year, and that I have gotten the opportunity to become his friend. He is so funny and kind. Every time I hear the word ‘goofy’ I smile and think of him. I honestly suck at putting my feelings for others into words, so in one simplified statement: Mina is an incredible person, and I am more grateful for his friendship than he will ever know.
One change that you would like to see: Full discretion this change is not fully achievable, however the lack of respect from some people when Morty or Kenz, or any one for that matter, is speaking in front of the class is astronomical. If they weren't making a valid point that applied to you, they wouldn't say it in front of the whole class. And even if it doesn't fully apply to you, keep your mouth shut long enough for instruction to be given so you don't distract others and you at least seem like you’re being respectful.
My Impact: My impact this month has been to continue to support my team to the best of my abilities. I have been focusing more on how my actions and words impact others, and vice versa. Meaning I will not let people’s unkind words get into my head, but I will continue to show kindness and empathy towards others.

January ASB Report

February 6, 2023
Position assessment: For the month of January, and technically a portion of December, the seniors main focus was winterfest. We had already had two meetings, one in October with just the senior officers and one in early December to debrief the class. I filled out the necessary paperwork, and completed and turned in the procedure form. April helped with all the thank you cards because that is her specialty. We were all over at April’s house all the time working on the huge poster, window, and shopping cart. Along with that, basketball has kept me super busy, but it is coming to an end so that won’t be a factor much longer.
Standing Committee: Finding a box for the signs, so far we have not found anything that is large enough and strong enough to hold them for years, so we haven't made any purchases.
Special Committee: 8th grade recruitment, I am going with Kenz to Colony Oak but we dont have a date yet. Valentine's hearts, I have 17 hearts of students and two for teachers that I am almost done with.
Mentorship Evaluation: Callie and I got lunch last week on Thursday and I am really excited to have her as my mentor partner this next semester. She is so sweet and I actually had a ton of fun on our little lunch date. I can't wait to get to know her more and I hope that she feels comfortable to come to me with any questions or concerns she has.
Concerns: I think that communication lately has been rocky to say the least. Especially as of late I have noticed that people have not been telling the truth about the little things, and there is no good reason for this. It starts to create rifts between classes and individuals that are completely unnecessary.
Positive comment: My positive comment this month goes to Jenna. I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to her much since core camp unfortunately, but seeing her delegate the hearts so well is amazing. She is such a strong and kind leader and I have really enjoyed seeing her grow this year.
One change that you would like to see: One change I would like to see is that everyone in the program holds more respect towards each other. Which is sort of unrealistic, but I wish everyone would just be nice and more patient towards each other.
My Impact: My impact this last month or so has been doing the paperwork, which I know is my job but I think I'm getting pretty good at it. Some of the paperwork can sort of be confusing and so I am proud of myself for figuring it out.

Senior Class Admin
March 3, 2023
1. What committee(s) have you been placed on, explain them, what is your role?
- I volunteered to be a part of gift to staff and a gift to the community. For gift to staff, I volunteered on Tuesday, after the other committees had already been formed, because I saw that there were only three people in the committee. By the time I joined and asked the others if they needed anything, they were pretty much done and the only thing I did was look over their purchase orders. But, during the week of, I will help by passing out the muffins, juice, etc. The next committee I volunteered for was a gift to the community, which consists of hand-writing letters to the eighth graders. Since I was in the committee we had to write 8 letters while the rest of the class wrote 6 each. I wrote 10 letters, that way Mina would have a little extra wiggle room and not have to write so many himself. He is doing such a great job of delegating and being authoritative even if he is a little stressed, so I hoped that by writing the extra letters it would take a little off his plate.
- During this week I checked over several purchase orders, prepared to write two teacher letters (one to Morts and one to Graham), I wrote 10 student letters and I am currently on standby to write more if Mina needs me to. In addition to this, I have completed my praises, my mentor coloring book, and my portfolio pages 16&17. The last thing I am currently working on is fully updating all paperwork on my website, as well as uploading this ASB report.
- The week of the challenge there are two main things I will be in charge of/assisting with, (1) because I opt out first I am going to drive to deliver the letters to eighth grade teachers to give to their students. And (2) essentially anything else that the group leads, or Mak, needs me to do. I will be helping distribute our gift to staff, being active in dress up days, and encouraging others to participate.
- One major pro I saw was how well our class came together and worked hard. I didn’t hear people talking over each other, people were actually listening to others ideas, along with working fairly diligently through each class period. Another thing that really stood out to me was how well we encouraged and supported the leads. I was talking with Mak, and I know she chose each lead with the purpose of testing their ability to take on a challenge… pun intended. Each lead that she chose was more than on top of their assignment! Each group was more than willing to do whatever their lead needed/assigned. Not only that but I heard a ton of verbal support, you got this, you are doing such a great job, I am so proud of you, etc.
- A con I saw was the lack of time vs. amount of stuff we had to do. I know this is a challenge…but this was seriously a challenge. We start planning homecoming, winterfest, and literally every other week we plan, at least two months ahead. We use all of that time planning and working to execute the event. As a class we had to push ourselves super hard to be successful and Kenz did a great job delegating.
- In the formal presentation I will be speaking on the gift to staff with Gabby M, we are splitting the slide to present the overall rundown of what we planned. We are discussing how we will be giving out muffins and notecards.
- I love the spin we took on the challenge this year. Summer kick off (at least for me) has such a positive connotation and makes me so happy. Also, who doesn't love summer?
- Yes, I do believe we will be successful. The support of fellow classmates, the dedication I have seen and the diligence everyone has displayed over this week has really impressed me. Of course there are a few that have been off task at times, but I have also seen others in the class reign them back in. If we keep working hard, I think we got this.
- In the event that a peer has not done their jobs, this should reflect in their eval. If you are not doing your job, yes it sucks for your peers but they (inevitably) will step up and handle it, but this is an issue between you and the teacher. Think about it: in the real world, when we get grown-up jobs, if a coworker is not pulling their weight, it is not your job to do anything about it. In this situation, you would tell your boss what is going on, from there the boss would take whatever action they see is fit. That is part of their job. So back to leadership, if someone is not doing their job I think Kenz and Morty need to have a discussion and doc them points to reflect this. Why should you have an A, or even a B for that matter, if you have done no work to earn it.
- My favorite aspect of this event is being able to watch others step up, usually out of their comfort zones, and succeed. All of this with the support of their peers just makes it even sweeter. I am so proud of Jenna, Mina, Spencer, Alizeh, Allie, and everyone else who stepped up. I am excited to see the product of all of our hard work pay off. And I am excited for the end of the year dance. I love dances, and I am super excited for the games/food that will be there.
ASB Report - April and May

Senior Class Admin
May 5, 2023
Position assessment: During April and May I focused on preparing for my AP test as well as completing college forms and orientations. I also applied for the Honors College at SOU and got in! Next major thing was Mock Interviews! I had so much fun and learned so much, overall I would say it was a very successful interview. For the senior officers, we began to really dive into all things grad trip, college reveal, baccalaureate, and graduation, which meant lots of meetings and figuring out times and dates. I would say we are pretty much good to go on everything, April is doing a great job of keeping us all on track! I go more in-depth below about other leadership events in the months of April and May!
Standing Committee: Signs, we got next year's sign order in! Gracie and I spent a period putting the metal things in the bottoms of the signs so they will stand in the grass and organizing them. We are still in the process of building the boxes for the signs.
Special Committee: The Challenge, which took up most of April. I assisted Mina in placing letters in envelopes and sorting them, and we are currently in communication to talk about delivery during first period that week. Next was Love Ripon. Gracie, April, Bri and I picked up trash for two and a half hours with Pendleton.
Mentorship Evaluation: We have honestly been so busy these past two months that we haven't had much time to talk or do anything outside of class. I do love saying hi to her during class, and I try to check in every now and then to make sure she is all good.
Concerns: The end of the year is coming very quickly and I feel like we are unprepared and just hustling to get things done. I think that we really need to get on top of things and work to help each other with everything that needs to be done.
Positive comment: Positive comment to the Junior officers! I can see how much they’ve grown this year through all the obstacles they have overcome. They have matured so much and are just such amazing people. From having some of the best senses of humor to being some of the most hard working people I know, I am so proud of them. Also they totally killed it at prom, I have heard nothing but rave reviews! They are so slay!
One change that you would like to see: I think, for next year, we need to have due dates more spread out especially this close to graduation. There are so many things going on, it makes it really difficult to stay on top of everything with such little warning on due dates. I think that a good idea would be to have the last portfolio pages due mid-April and that way May is more clear and everyone can focus on their last min projects and ASB reports.
My Impact: These past few months I have been focusing on college stuff mostly because it has become super overwhelming. I have just tried to remain positive and supportive of my peers assisting within anything they may need.
